Lonely Soul

This poem is based on first-hand experiences shared by friends of mine who grew up in the U.S. but live in other parts of the world.

Lonely,

to be the only owner on your street

of a soul that speaks your native tongue,

of a heart that beats with your Father’s drum,

of a mind that seeks to find itself with

Strength enough to love the

Lord your God.
